FAQ

Why should I book a phone consultation?

Email, text and messaging can be wonderful tools to communicate but it’s not always the most accurate when it comes to tone. A phone call allows me to gather all the information I need from you quickly and create the most accurate custom quote without you having to do any of the work. It will also allow us a chance to get to know one another a little better. If you prefer email only I will have you fill out an inquiry form and respond accordingly. No problem!

Do I really need a Trial?

Short answer, yes. Why? A trial will allow us time to create a look together without the stress of a strict wedding day schedule. It will also allow you to put your look to the test throughout the day which will tell us if we need to make any adjustments. As your artist it is my job to make your day run as smoothly as possible on my end and having a clear idea of what you expect is a huge part of that.

Do I need multiple Artists?

This will depend on your timeline and how many services you need. If you have a large group and want to cut your "getting ready" time down, I recommend investing in an additional artist or artists. I vet every artist that works with Pearls of Beauty so you do not have to worry about choosing someone you can trust to show up on time, be professional and create flawless looks that are cohesive to the rest of the bridal party. Our goal at Pearls of Beauty is to keep your experience as stress free as possible.

What makeup brands do you use?

All professional makeup artists who work with Pearls of Beauty use a variety of cosmetics designed for film, photography, all skin textures, types and tones. We also use products that will help fight the elements such as sweat and tears to ensure your makeup lasts all day and night.

Do you offer airbrush makeup?

I prefer to use traditional makeup techniques and products to create the most flawless application for an “airbrushed” like finish without the gun. Your artist will customize skin prep and products specific to individual skin type, texture and tone to achieve the very best look and feel.

How soon in advance should I book my services?

As soon as possible. I book out some dates a year or two in advance. The sooner you book, the sooner you can knock this off your list of things to do and have confidence your services are secured.

Do you require a Retainer?

A 50% non refundable retainer is required to hold your date and to secure additional artists and stylists. Keep in mind there are busy seasons and limited availability on weekends. Dates fill up very quickly in advance and we will not be able to guarantee your date will be available after a response to inquiry without a retainer.

How can I book services?

Once you receive your custom quote and are ready to move forward let us know! You will be sent a contract to sign with information on how to secure your date with a retainer.

How far do you travel?

I will travel anywhere you like whether it’s local, another state or another country! Depending on your location additional travel fees may apply.

What should I expect for the day of schedule?

As soon as you confirm the total number of services you want I will create a timeline including set up, last minute touchups and packing to go. You know your bridal party best so your only job is to fill out a form to let me know who gets which time slot. Easy!

Will my makeup and hair trial be at the same location?

Hairstylist that work with Pearls of Beauty can come to the Makeup studio for your trial with advanced scheduling. If there is a conflict with your stylist schedule on the day you want services you may have to travel a short distance to their salon or book your services on a day that works for all parties.

How do I consult with my hairstylist?

It is important you communicate directly with your stylist so they have a clear picture of what you want. Your stylist will contact you directly via email and may even set up a phone call with you as well to talk about your expectations for your hair. It is helpful for both artist and stylist to see photos of what you like ( we recommend 3-5 photos max). If you do not have an idea of what you want we will discuss some suggestions at your trial.
